Dienstag, 23.7.2019 – 2. Tourtag: Auch heute morgen sitze ich um kurz nach sieben auf meinem Balkon und genieße den ersten Kaffee – zwar „nur“ im Plastikbecher, dafür aber mit prachtvoller Aussicht. An einen solchen Start in den neuen Tag könnte ich mich bei meinen Touren irgendwie gewöhnen, auch wenn ich eigentlich kein Frühaufsteher bin.
Nachdem Stefan gestern noch zu uns gestoßen ist, geht es heute in drei Gruppen ins Drautal. Wir wollen die Strecke fahren, die ich am Sonntag schon mal weitestgehend erkundet habe. Über den malerischen Hemmaberg geht es Richtung Bleiburg, um wenig später einen Fotostopp an der Hängebrücke von Santa Lucia einzulegen.
Vorbei an dem etwas heruntergekommenen Schloß Leifling, das wahrscheinlich im 15. Jahrhundert errichtet wurde, erreichen wir den ehemaligen Grenzübergang und damit Slowenien. Von nun an tragen die Ortsschilder eine gelbe Farbe. Auf schmaler Trasse geht es kilometerlang durch einen Wald; vereinzelt begegnen uns Radfahrer und Wanderer.

Die mächtige Drau überqueren wir nahe Trbonje und zeigen uns beeindruckt vom weiten Blick auf den behäbig dahinfließenden Fluß. Ein paar Lastwagen „stören“ unseren Vorwärtsdrang, sind aber auf der gut ausgebauten B1 schnell überholt.
Unterhalb des Radlpasses legen wir in der „Gostilna Zogar“ unsere erste Kaffeepause ein. Die Besitzerin spricht gut deutsch, die junge Tochter weigert sich hingegen unsere Sprache zu lernen. „Generationskonflikte“, wie wir sie nicht kennen.

Wir genießen den kurzen Stopp auf der rustikalen Terrasse, um bald darauf die Passhöhe zu erreichen. Dort verläuft die Grenze zwischen Slowenien und Österreich. Der slowenischen Untersteiermark und dem österreichischen Bundesland Steiermmark. Auf 679 Metern Höhe liegt der Scheitel.
Über Eibiswald, Wernersdorf, Sankt Oswald ob Eibiswald, Sankt Lorenzen und Krumbach fahren wir den größtmöglichen Umweg in Form einer Acht, laden die herrlichen Straßen doch keinesfalls dazu ein, das jeweilige Ziel auf direktem Weg zu erreichen. In Soboth schließlich stellen wir unsere Motorräder vor dem „Alpengasthof Messer“ ab, wollen wir hier doch die Mittagsrast einlegen.

Die Küche bietet eine große Auswahl: Geschnetzeltes mit Pilzen und Knödeln, Salat mit frittierter Hühnerbrust, Forelle oder leckere Backhändel sind die Renner. Dazu noch ein Stück Joghurt-Torte zum Nachtisch – Mensch, was geht es uns gut.
Über die Soboth-Passstraße stürzen wir uns den Magdalensberg hinab, fahren vorbei am imposanten Schloss Griffen und erreichen, über den Johannserberg fahrend, schließlich Brückl. Im „Cafe Schattleitner“ lässt es sich bei riesigen Eisbechern aushalten; die Temperaturen erreichen am Nachmittag wieder einmal Spitzenwerte.

Gut 60 Kilometer liegen noch vor uns. Die Route führt vorbei an Klagenfurt und Sankt Margarethen im Rosental. Kaum haben wir den Freibacher Stausee erreicht, zweigen wir ab auf den Schaidasattel und fahren Richtung Ebriach. Am Abzweig zur Trögener Klamm halte ich kurz an. Da es noch nicht so spät ist, würde sich ein Abstecher in die wildromantische Schlucht anbieten.
Gut drei Kilometer lang stehen die bizarren Kalksteinfelsen dicht aneinander. Mächtig tief hat sich der Trögernbach (auf slowenisch Korski potok oder Korska voda) ins Gestein gebraben. Die Straße, die in die Sackgasse hineinführt, wurde in den Jahren 1923 bis 1925 gebaut und ist vollständig asphaltiert. Am Ende des Tals findet sich der kleine Weiler Trögern – der der Klamm den Namen gab – mit einer idyliischen Bergkirche und einem kleinen Friedhof.
Die Fahrt lohnt bis zum Gasthof Franzl, der nach gut drei Kilometern rechter Hand auftaucht. Auf dem Weg dorthin ist man quasi auf dem Meeresgrund unterwegs. Denn die Trögener Klamm besteht zum überwiegenden Teil aus Schlerndolomit. Dieser entstand vor rund 250 Millionen Jahren aus dem, was von kalkhaltiger Organismen übrig blieb, die sich im ruhigen Wasser einer Lagune abgelagert hatten. Klar, dass wir da noch ein Gruppenfoto machen müssen.
Bis zum Hotel ist es nun nicht mehr weit. Parallel zur Straße nach Bad Eisenkappel führt oberhalb am Berg ein schmaler Weg, von dem aus es zur Eisenkappeler Hütte geht, die auf einem Aussichtsberg steht. Der Stich hinauf auf 1553 Meter ist mautpflichtig, die Zufahrt bis zur Schranke aber sollte problemlos möglich sein. Um das auszuprobieren zweigen wir auf den Nebenweg ab und werden bestätigt. Der Weg bis zur Mautstelle und weiter zur Hauptstraße ist durchgängig befahrbar. Kurz überlegen wir, ob wir in den Münzautomat einmal die Maut einwerfen und dann mit allen Motorräder gleichzeitig unter der sich öffnenden Schranke hindurchfahren sollen … nein, das machen wir natürlich nicht, zumal so langsam das Feierabendbier ruft.
Noch einmal artig tanken und schon serviert uns Martina wieder eine herrlich kühle „Hopfenkaltschale“. Charly fühlt sich bemüßigt – nachdem wir nur lange genug gelästert hatten – seiner GS doch ein Schlückchen frisches Öl zu gönnen und repariert im Anschluss eigenständig auch noch das defekte Rücklicht. Was für ein Tag!
